ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has advised the authorities concerned to take concrete measures to control the diseases causing visual impairment.
He said this while talking to representatives of Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan, who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The President said that establishment of research centre for eye diseases is need of the hour. He directed to prepare a feasibility report for establishing a research centre for eye diseases and assured all possible support in this regard.
On the occasion, President Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan Professor Idrees Adhi, Dr. Waheed Afzal, Major General Mazhar Ishaque, and Dr. M. Mazhar Qayyum invited President Mamnoon Hussain to attend as a Chief Guest a SAARC countries’ Conference on Ophthalmology to be held next year in August which was accepted by the President.
