Islamabad:,,, Minister for Defence production Rana Tanveer Hussain is visiting Kazakhstan to attend Kazakhstan Defence Expo (KADEX) 2014 in the Astana city on the special invitation of Kazakhstan Defence Authorities.
Upon arrival at Kazakhstan Minister was accorded a warm welcome by the Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Shaukat Ali Mukadam and was taken to the Embassy where he was briefed about matters of mutual interest between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
The opening ceremony of KADEX was attended by dignitaries and defence delegations from across the world.
Minister for Defence Production was greeted warmly by Minister of Defence Kazakhstan Mr. Dzhaksybekov Adilbek Ryskeldinovich and held meeting to explore important areas of defence production between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
During the meeting stressed on the sensitivity and rising challenges of post 2014 draw down in the region and said that a responsible and vigilant role by the regional players is the need of the hour.
He added that Pakistan believes in the policy of non-interference, non-aggression and peaceful co-existence with the neighbors.
Rising challenges also create opportunities for better enhancement of capability and Pakistan defence industry is significantly thriving in this regard.
”We not only produce defence equipment of low cost and high quality but also vigilant of the NATO standards of defence production.
Minister for Defence Kazakhstan appreciated Pakistan stride in the field of defence production be it Avionics, Artillery or Naval equipment. He added that Pakistan has significantly increased its capacity of defence production and showed interest in attending IDEAS 2014 to be held in Karachi.
