Robbers loot wheat loaded truck on Islamabad Highway

ISLAMABAD: A wheat loaded truck number Z-7793/PWR was robbed by unknown armed robbers the other day on the Islamabad Highway in the jurisdiction of Sihala police Station.

The truck was being driven by Muhammad tayyab, a resident of Peshawar. After stopping the driver, the armed robbers snatched mobile phones and Rs 16, 000 cash from the driver and his co-driver.

After committing robbery, the dacoits kept the drivers in a nearby jungle and tied their hands and feet. Some accomplices of the robbers took the truck with them to unknown place, whereas rest of the dacoits stayed with drivers in the jungle until they were informed by their fellows that now the truck was reached at a safe place.

Both the drivers became untied with their own efforts and went in police station Sihala for lodging complaint of the incident. Police registered an FIR and started investigation into the incident.

Sources told the drivers that the truck was parked in Naushera and wheat was unloaded and rushed to any hideout, from where it would be sold. When contacted Station House Officer (SHO) Sihala Ashiq Husain, said police had received some clue and will arrest the dacoits very soon.
