ISLAMABAD: Minister for States and Frontier Regions Lt. Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch has informed the Senate that over 3.9 million Afghan refugees have been voluntarily repatriated since June 2002.
In a written reply during Questions Hour in Senate on Tuesday, he said over 55000 registered Afghan refugees have been repatriated to Afghanistan from January to October 15, 2015.
He said at present, there are 1.53 million registered refugees and an estimated one million un-documented Afghans living in Pakistan.
To a question, he said plan for rehabilitation of internally displace persons after the Zarb-e-Azb operation had been prepared which involve financial requirements of over Rs 80 million rupees.
Winding up discussion on an adjournment motion by Shahi Syed Abdul Qadir Baloch assured the House that the government will take every possible step to stop production of spurious and substandard drugs in the country.
He said 32, 000 samples collected for analysis showed two per cent drugs were substandard and 0.45 percent spurious. The House will now meet today (Wednesday).
