Senate (Senate condemns blasphemous caricatures)

Islamabad: The Senate unanimously passed a resolution strongly condemning the latest attempt in the United States to malign Islam through blasphemous caricatures.

The resolution was moved by Mushahid Hussain Sayed in the House on Wednesday.

Earlier, during question hour, the House was informed that the government will purchase cotton directly from the farmers to stabilise cotton price.

Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir denied any restriction on the import or export of the commodity.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said work on different coal-based power projects is going on rapidly. New projects will be completed in Tharparkar, Port Qasim and Jamshoro.

Winding up debate on an adjournment motion regarding inordinate delay in execution of K-4 project, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the federal government has allocated two hundred million rupees in current financial year’s PSDP. Of this eighty million have already been released.
