Survey: (33% Pakistanis believe that their ties with household members have weakened in the past 12 months: Poll)


ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 33% Pakistanis say that their ties with household members have weakened in the past 12 months; 27% said that their ties have strengthened.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “With regards to the past 12 months, please tell if you would say that your ties with household members have strengthened, weakened or remained the same as before?” In response to this question, 27% said that their ties have strengthened, 33% said that they have weakened and 40% said that they have remained the same as before.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1786 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 05 – October 12, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
