ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), President AKIA, Senior Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Panel of FPCCI and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain on Monday said issue of Indian spy should not be allowed to push Pak-Iran relations under cloud.
National security is more important than the trade but it is heartening that Islamabad and Tehran are dealing the issue of Indian spy based in Iranian city of Cha Bahar in a dignified and cooperative manner, he said.
He said Iran should address security concerns of Pakistan and should not allow its soil to be used against Islamabad so that decisions reached during the visit of Iranian President Hasan Rouhani can be implemented swiftly.
He said Pakistan and Iran should demonstrate same maturity on the matter of Kul Bhushan that India and Pakistan demonstrated on the issue of Pathankot attack.
Mian Zahid said that Pakistan and Iran should not allow anyone to spoil relations or compromise bilateral trade which is key to peace and prosperity.
Cordial ties will result in export expansion for Pakistan while import of gas and electricity will reduce unemployment and increase GDP as well as revenue. Reduced energy crisis through import of electricity and gas from Iran will help Pakistan reclaim lost ground in the export markets.
Three Pakistani companies including two IT companies have already opened their offices in Tehran which should not be disappointed otherwise it will send a very negative signal, he warned, adding that both countries shouldn’t delay proposed FTA.
