41% Pakistanis believe ‘lack of intercession’ is the reason for unemployment in the country, Poll


Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 41% Pakistanis believe ‘lack of intercession’ is the reason for unemployment in the country.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, what are the reasons for unemployment in our country?” Responding to this, 33% said lack of opportunities, 41% replied a lack of intercession and 26% said increasing population. 28% mentioned the economic crisis and 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2629 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Jan 20, 2014 – Jan 27, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
