Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, a significant majority of Pakistanis (81%) believe Christians should be allowed to build Churches in Muslim countries where they are a minority.
A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, those Muslim countries where Christians are in a minority, for example Pakistan, should they be allowed to build Churches or not?” In response, 81% said they should be allowed compared to 19% who said they should not be allowed.
The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2674 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Sep 30, 2013 – Oct 07, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
