Islamabad: The Government has taken several decisions to boost trade with Afghanistan aimed at increasing exports to that country and benefitting business community as well as the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decisions were taken at a high level meeting chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar here Thursday to review Pakistan’s trade with Afghanistan.
These decisions will help the country earn one billion dollars.
The meeting was informed that Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan during last financial year were 2.3 billion dollar including trade undertaken in Pak Rupee estimated at 50% of the total exports.
After consultations and due recommendations by the concerned Ministries‚ the Finance Minister decided that payments against exports to Afghanistan would no longer be in Pakistani Rupee.
