Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan have agreed to continue the dialogue process with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The agreement was reached at a meeting between the two leaders in Islamabad on Wednesday. The Prime Minister‚ accompanied by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan‚ his Special Assistant Irfan Siddiqui and Political Secretary Asif Kirmani drove to the residence of PTI leader in Islamabad for the meeting.
PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi‚ Javed Hashmi‚ Jehangir Tareen and Shireen Mazari also attended the meeting. The Prime Minister said their objective is to realize the goal of peace without bloodshed.
Later talking to newsmen‚ Imran Khan said it is for the first time that a Government made serious efforts for peace through dialogue and achieved good results.
PTI leader said his meeting with the Prime Minister was positive. He said efforts of Mian Nawaz Sharif for peace were appreciable. Imran Khan called for realizing peace goal through dialogue by avoiding operation. He said anti-dialogue forces are active and meeting of the pro-dialogue forces is a good omen.
