Islamabad: The National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) is organizing a two-day International conference on “Emerging Challenges of Business Schools in Pakistan” in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) at Islamabad from January 27-28, 2014.
President Mamnoon Hussain will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony to be held today (Monday) at the President House.
The conference will identify critical steps to align education with business needs and recommend actions to the emerging challenges in the business education. It is also aimed at bridging the gap between Industry and Academia and to reflect on the key purpose of business education in Pakistan.
The conference, to be addressed by national and international speakers, will provide a unique opportunity to share ideas on emerging challenges of business education, and discuss innovative ideas and solutions. NBEAC is the national accrediting authority, established by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), to enhance the quality of business education in the country.
This is the first of the series of four conferences. Deans and Directors of the Business Schools, industry experts and entrepreneurs will attend the conference. The conference will comprise seven sessions with blend of Industry and Academia related topics. There will also be an exhibition of over 40 stalls of the local industry and academic institutions at the conference and will be open to public. Pakistan Tele-communication Company Limited (PTCL) and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) are the main sponsors for the event.
