Punjab youth festival successfully held : DCO

Islamabad: District Coordination Officer, Chakwal Yawar Hussain said on Friday that Punjab Youth Festival 2014 was successful held in District Chakwal and it was possible due to the enthusiastic participation of local Youth & General Public.

He further said that as it is the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab to highlight the abilities of our youth before the world through this festival. He was speaking, while reviewing report regarding Youth Festival activities in Chakwal at D.C.O Office.

He said that the District Administration and other Government Agencies also left no stone unturned for providing all available sports facilities to the Youth participating in Festival.

He further said that the provincial Government had already allocated 2 % of its budget for conducting Youth Festival at all level for this purpose and the District Administration has transparently spent the available funds for providing sports facilities to the contesting Youth at Union Council, Tehsil & District level.

He said that the District Administration has not left the participants in the lurch going to contest at Divisional level and there were dully given refreshment, daily allowance and conveyance allowance so that they could purely focused on to show their abilities.

That is why this time District Chakwal stood first at Divisional level in the games like Hockey, Kabaddi, Athletics, 400 Mtr. Race, Javelin throw, Shot Put throw, Mud Wrestling and Taekwondo etc.

He also told that Cash Prizes has also been given by the local industrialists and sports loving philanthropists for encouraging the winners and runner up players at Union Councils, Tehsils and District level, which is the clear indication that District Chakwal achieved great distinction across the Province due to successful holding of Youth Festival.
