Islamabad: The meetings thoroughly discussed new Balakot city project, its progress, impediments and agreed to find out resolute solution to remove all kinds of obstacles.
The project steering committee meeting was held at Earthquake Reconstruction, Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) on Wednesday. Deputy Chairman ERRA Maj. Gen. Muhammad Azeem Asif chaired the meeting.
In the meeting Commissioner Hazara Division, Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, Director General Pakhtunkhwa Earthquake Reconstruction, Rehabilitation Authority (PERRA) and nominated representatives from the public and Authority officials also held detail discussion and affirmed to remove all hurdles to complete Balakot city development project.
During the meeting land vacation by illegal occupants was discussed at length and breadth. It was the consensus among the meeting participants that some troublemakers, have not only obstructed the city development but also caused delay which resulted in cost escalation and bringing miseries for the affected families of old Balakot city.
The meeting evolved consensus to actively pursue the issue in an amicable way so that New Balakot city development project can be built with high quality civic facilities.
Hazara District Administration, KP government officials also showed their resolve to extend full and dedicated support to ensure completion of the project.
During the meeting health and education projects in Hazara Division quake hit areas were also discussed. Deputy Chairman ERRA reiterated his commitment to complete on going health and education projection on priority basis. Project steering Committee Meeting will again assemble after two weeks to review the progress regarding land possession and other administrative decisions.
