Islamabad: Commercial markets in Islamabad are meant for promoting trade & commerce, but growth of business activities in residential areas is badly hurting the interests of businessmen and CDA should take urgent measures for removal of all business activities from these areas, said Khalid Chaudhry, Central Secretary Information of Traders Action Committee Islamabad and Senior Vice President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry while inaugurating a fruit shop at Farooqia Market, Islamabad.
He said almost all houses on Nazimuddin Road, F-6 are being used for commercial activities and held BCS officials of CDA responsible for this phenomenon as they are receiving Bhatta for allowing these illegal activities.
He warned that if this trend was not curbed urgently, others will feel encouraged to run business activities in their houses in the federal capital and this situation will badly affect the business of those entrepreneurs who are doing business in commercial centres.
He urged upon the concerned officials of CDA to take serious notice of this situation and ensure elimination of non-conforming use of residential areas so that business activities could flourish in markets.
He said Traders Action Committee, Islamabad has also called a meeting to discuss this important issue.
Khalid Chaudhry said various blocks are being constructed in the Farooqia Market but closure of shops in connivance with BCS’s Inspectors and other officials is creating problems for customers of this area.
He said lot of corruption has been done in construction projects in Farooqia Market and he appealed to the Chairman CDA Mr. Maroof Afzal to into take notice of this situation in the interest of trade and business.
