ISLAMABAD: A 15 members delegation of traders headed by Mr. Iftikhar Shahzad, President of Traders Welfare Association G-8 Markaz Islamabad visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with Senior Vice President of ICCI Mr. Khalid Mehmood Chaudhry and Former President of ICCI Mr. Munawar Mughal to discuss various problems faced by business community. General Secretary Abdul Majeed Kiyani, Raja Hafeez and various other officials were also present on the occasion.
Former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Munawar Mughal while exchanging views said that business community has been victimized by imposing recent car parking fee by newly imported officials of CDA, which has further increased their worries but business community by showing immense unity will foil all such conspiracies of CDA.
Senior Vice President of ICCI Mr. Khalid Mehmood Chaudhry while addressing the session said few CDA officials are busy in creating problems for Pakistan Muslim League (N) government. Especially, DMA CDA has personally increased the trade license fee to further overburden the traders despite the fact that traders are heavy taxpayers.
He further said that laws have clearly defined punishments for different crimes but DMA has personally increased the percentage of penalties which is totally illegal. He said imposition of parking tax is being used create rift between Government and traders. He further said that he will fully support the protest of traders against this cause.
Mr. Iftikhar Shahzad, President of Traders Welfare Association G-8 Markaz and General Secretary Abdul Majeed Kiyani were of the view that they fully condemn the anti-traders steps taken by CDA.
They vowed that if Chairman CDA and DMA CDA were not changed, a call for complete shutter down will be called after November 26, 2013 and CDA would be responsible for all the consequences.
He further said that from the past 10 years there has been no developmental work done in Islamabad and there is lack of public toilets facilities, clean drinking water, streetlights and majority of roads are broken and demolished parking lots. Under such circumstances CDA should be ashamed of act of imposition of parking tax.
He further said that imported officials are unaware of Islamabad’s issues of, so Prime Minister and Minister of Interior should personally intervene in this issue and remove above officials from CDA immediately to save Islamabad from further troubles.
