Karachi: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) on Tuesday condemned four blasts targeting Shiite mourners on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) in the city that killed three people and injured 21 others.
Expressing his grief over blasts, JI Sindh Chief Mairajul Huda said that these incidents highlighted failure of government to overcome crisis situations. “Government claimed foolproof security arrangements for Chehlum processions but the terrorists were able to breach security barriers.”
He said that anti-Islam people were involved in these acts and they were trying to create divisions in the society on the basis of sects. The JI chief said that religious parties should play their positive role in order to foil conspiracy hatched by anti-state elements.
He also demanded of government to bring people responsible for these acts to justice.
The ASWJ also condemned blasts in the city and said that such incidents were an attempt to disrupt peace of the city.Talking to PPI, ASWJ Leader Allama Aurangzeb Farooqui condemned the blasts and said that they were aimed at creating differences among religious sects living in the city. “ASWJ had always condemned terror activities and these blasts were a conspiracy for creating sectarian conflict in the city.”
He also condemned a firing incident by Rawalpindi police that injured five of his party activists.
