JI condemns harassment of ‘Bengalis’

Karachi: Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Asadullah Bhutto on Thursday said illegal crackdown by the law enforcement agencies (LEA) against patriot Bengali-speaking Pakistanis on the pretext of a court order is a highhandedness with them.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC). Ex-MPA Nasraullah Shajee, Syed Qutbuddin Ahmed and Yunus Barai were present.

He said illegal immigrants are burden on national economy and they should be expelled from country in the lights of the court order which is also essential for revival of economy.

He regretted the some officials of law enforcement agencies and NARA are illegally harassing the Bengali-speaking Pakistanis for taking bribes from them. He said these Bengalis have been living in Pakistan since 1947, but the harassment of these patriot people is against all laws of land. He said Supreme Court order about illegal immigrants should be implemented in letter and spirit, but should not be misused to harass our own people.

He demanded of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Federal Interior Minister and Chief Minister Sindh to take notice of the situation and stop the harassment of Bengali speaking Pakistanis.

Nasraullah Shajee said behavior of law enforcing agencies with these innocent Pakistanis is highly condemnable and JI will raise voice against this injustice.
