12 injured as garment factory catches fire


KARACHI: At least 12 people, including five women, suffered burn injuries when a fire erupted in a garment factory in SITE area in the metropolitan on Monday.

According to fire brigade officials, over 16 vehicles were busy extinguishing fire. The authorities declared the fire as third-degree fire. They said the fire spread within moments and engulfed a vast area.

The rescue sources said the injured were rushed to nearest hospital for treatment.

Chief Minister Sindh has taken the notice of the incident and instructed Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui to tackle the situation.
