KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Anti-corruption and Prisons Manzoor Hussain Wasan on Friday said that 1336 cases have been registered with anti-corruption department up till now.
Speaking to PPI, Wasan said that decisions were given on 862 cases while 474 cases were in pending in the anti-corruption courts.
He said that show-cause notices were given to 67 anti-corruption officers for not performing up to the mark while 100 were returned to police department after completing their three years of deputation in anti-corruption department.
The minister said that clear directions were given to anti-corruption officers during the meeting at his office to review the progress of the department, regarding stern action against corrupt officials.
He said that the anti-corruption officials were given free hand to investigate the corruption cases and they were directed to bear no pressure during their investigations.
Wasan said that the provincial government had to bear a loss of billions in terms of revenue due to illegal allotment of hundreds of acres land on the name of fake people.
