KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Doctors wing President and Senator Karim Khawaja on Thursday said that 28,300 blood bags were collected on the 61st birthday of slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto and the same would be distributed among Pakistan army soldiers fighting in North Waziristan and 3500 thalassemia & haemophilia patients across Sindh on 27 June 2014.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the PPP leader said that 28,300 blood bottles were collected this year which was 5000 more than the previous year. Party leaders Owais Muzaffar, Qadir Patel, Jameel Soomro and Javed Nagori also donated blood during the campaign.
He said that the blood collection would be given to 3500 registered thalassemia and haemophilia patients at expo centre in Karachi and thalassemia and haemophilia centres in Badin, Benazirabad and Sukkur on June 27. He said that Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah would also visit expo centre.
