3 alleged criminals killed in encounter with rangers

KARACHI: Paramilitary force, Rangers on Friday claimed to have killed three criminals during two separate encounters in the city. According to rangers spokesman, on a tip-off, rangers personnel conducted a raid in Madina Colony of Federal B Area in New Karachi, closed its exist and entry points. He said that the alleged criminals in the area opened fire on rangers and in retaliatory fire by rangers, two criminals were killed while their accomplice was arrested in injured condition.

The accused were involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes, said spokesman.

Separately, a suspected criminal was killed during encounter with rangers in Sohrab Goth. The suspect was wanted in murder, attempt to murder and other criminal cases.

According to reports, five suspects of a banned outfit were also arrested from Gulshan-i-Buner in Landhi. Further investigation was under way.
