310-acre land recovered from mafia

KARACHI: Following the directive of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the anti-encroachment taskforce recovered 310 acres of land of Evacuee Trust from land mafia in Surjani Town on Monday.

The action was taken under the supervision of Chairman Anti-Encroachment Taskforce Bilal Manzar, whereas Director Anti-encroachment Mazhar Khan, Additional Director Muhammad Shakir, P D Surjani Muhammad Israr, Deputy Director Wajid Ali, Deputy Director Salman, Deputy Director Kamran Abbas and Focal Person Naseem Ghani were also present.

During the action, the staff of anti encroachments task force demolished all concrete houses, shops and other structures in the area and handed over the recovered land to project director of Surjani Town.

Manzar also warned all the land mafia people to leave all the captured lands of government or would have to encounter crackdown.

“The aim of anti-encroachment operation is to make the city trouble-free of encroachments and illegal seizure of lands,” he said.
