Action demanded against robberies in buses

KARACHI: Transport Action Committee President Mohammad Ashraf Banglori has expressed concern over increased robberies in buses in Karachi and demanded of Inspector General of Police Sindh to take immediate steps against criminal elements depriving people of their belongings.

He said that majority of these incidents were reported in Banaras, Manghopir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Landhi, Korangi and Anda Morr. “Police have left people on the mercy of dacoits in these areas,” he said adding that not only public transport but the motorcyclists were also not safe from this situation.

He called IGP Sindh to take immediate steps and ensure safety for the passengers. He demanded deployment of police personnel at Bacha Khan Bridge and its adjoining roads along with snap checking for passenger vehicles in order to provide safety to people.
