Action demanded against transporters reluctant to cut fares

KARACHI: President Karachi Transport Action committee Mohammad Ashraf Banglori on Sunday rejected the strike call by transport mafia on CNG supply closure.

In a statement, he said transport mafia was blackmailing the provincial government in a bid to delay transfer of benefit to the people from oil price reduction.

Banglori said: “The transporters are blackmailing the provincial government by announcing strike so as to press it for not reducing fares after the oil price reduction which is due right of people of the country.”

He said that millions of citizens had been deprived of transport fare cut which was outstanding after significant oil rates decline.

“Transport mafia, CNG dealers and traders are in a fix to blackmail the government,” Banglori said

He appealed to Sindh government and political parties to act against such type of strikes so as to provide relief to the people.
