KARACHI: Five robbers looted a bank in Federal B area near Gul Plaza on Thursday evening. According to police, five robbers entered Habib Bank Limited Gul Plaza branch after its closing time. They collected Rs 8 million and decamped with booty to unknown destination after swift operation.
DIG West Javed Alam Odho said that security guards were involved in the robbery. He said that police were searching for the robbers with the help of CCTV footage. He said that the robbers’ faces were recognizable in the footage.
Eleven bank robberies have been committed in Karachi during this year.
According to data recently provided by police, over Rs 15 million were robbed from 10 banks in Karachi during the first three months of the current year. Thirty banks were robbed in previous year. Four bank robberies were reported in January, three in February and four in the current month.
