KARACHI: All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on Wednesday threatened to launch a protest drive against non-acceptance of their genuine demands.
Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC), President APCA Syed Amanullah Shah Mushwani said: “If Sindh government does not accept their demands within 15 days, we will stage protests across Sindh by using legal and constitutional right.”
He said after the 18th amendment, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan governments had issued promotion notice of clerks, but Sindh government was still slumbering.
Mushwani demanded upgrading employees, providing them time scale and ad hoc allowance besides regularizing contract staff.
Senior vice president APCA Sindh Maqbool Hussain Mahar said clerks are important part of any departments but despite passage of many years, they are not promoted.
He said: “If our demands are not met within eight days, protests will be held outside the press clubs of Larkana, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad from 7 January 2015 to 28 January 2015.
