Apex committee decides to take strict action to improve law, order in Karachi


KARACHI: An Apex Committee meeting in Corps Headquarter Karachi was held for reviewing the operations and intelligence efforts and accelerating the Karachi operation.

In the meeting Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Director General ISI and other senior officers were present.

According to release issued by Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR), the meeting reviewed ongoing intelligence operation to hunt down terrorists who committed heinous act and directed intelligence agencies to work together to exploit existing leads, continuation of across the board of operation with increased tempo.

It was decided to hold regular, meaningful Apex Committee meeting on weekly basis. Efforts be taken for apprehension of criminals and abettors irrespective of their political, religious, ethnic, sectarian or any other affiliation.

Develop a system for strict checking at all entry and exit points.

Intelligence sub committees to coordination, synergise, civil military intelligence efforts for optimally effective intelligence based operations.

It was agreed to extend governance/law Enforcement agencies to Karachi’s to improve governance. Check all financial channels funding to criminals, militants, terrorists.

Effective policing and surveillance in vast suburbs of Karachi to prevent sneaking terrorists’ attacks.

Transparency/merit based appointments of various department officials with oversight mechanism to help the system for term sustainability.
