KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday indicted four suspects in a case pertaining to a murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zehra Shahid.
Police brought Irfan alias Lamba, Kaleem, Zahid and Rashid before ATC judge where they were indicted in a murder case. All the accused pleaded not guilty against the charges labeled against them. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till 15 June.
Zehra Shahid was among the founding leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and served as a PTI central vice president. She was gunned down soon after the general election 2013 outside her home in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area on 18th March 2013.
The case FIR 198/2013 was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Gizri police station.
