KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday issued non-bail able arrest warrants for banned out Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Mulla Fazlullah, spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid and 9 other accused for storming the Karachi airport in June this year.
The ATC judge on Saturday conducted hearing of the case and issued non-bail able arrest warrants for Mulla Fazlullah, Shahidullah Shahid and 9 other. The militants on 8th July 2014 had attacked Karachi airport and killed at least 15 people.
Earlier this year the TTP claimed the responsibility of the attack and their spokesman said that the attack was also carried out to avenge the death of Hakimullah Mehsud, who was killed in a US drone strike.
The main case 87/14 was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 427 (mischief casing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 435 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage, etc), 436 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house, etc), 109 (abetment) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code and 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at Airport police station.
