ATC issues warrants against 12 suspects in Niazi murder case


KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of 12 more suspects in a murder case of deputy superintendent Karachi Central Jail.

ATC judge issued the warrants for the arrest of Nauman, Sajid, Zahid, Irfan and others and asked police to arrest and produce them before the court in the next hearing of the case.

During the hearing of the case today, ATC was informed that Ubaid K2 had disclosed that 12 more suspects, including Nauman, Sajid, Zahid, Irfan and others, were involved in killing then deputy superintendent Karachi Central Jail Amanullah Niazi.

According to the prosecution, deputy superintendent of central jail Karachi Amanullah Khan Niazi, his brother Habibullah Niazi and three guards were gunned down in Karachi when unknown assailants attacked them on 15th June 2006. Amanullah Khan Niazi was known for his strictness and during his stint.

Ubaid K2 was among the suspects arrested by rangers from MQM Headquarters, Nine-Zero and its surrounding on 11th March 2015.
