KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday ordered SSP Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) to recover a citizen, taken captive by criminals, and produce him in court within 10 days.
A division bench headed by Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh gave this order while hearing a petition filed by Aslam Khan Ghori seeking whereabouts of his son Irfan Khan Ghori, who was kidnapped during ethnic riots in Karachi in 2011.
Nasir Aftab SSP AVCC and CIA submitted a report, stating that investigation officer in kidnapping case had interrogated the suspects but could not succeed in arresting captors, who are stated to be located in Chakiwara, an area of Lyari, which was a no-go area.
He said that Toor Khan alias Shahzad, who was suspected to be involved in kidnapping of petitioner’s son, during interrogation told the police that his friends Ahmed Khan Afghani, Baba Kashmiri, Saleem Baloch, Pappu Balocah, and Amjad Baloch were involved in the kidnapping of petitioner’s son.
He said that further investigation was underway and a committee had been constituted under the supervision of DSP AVCC to work out plan for recovery of missing man.
Hearing of case was adjourned till May 19.
