KARACHI: Noted Baloch nationalist Nawab Khair Bux Marri passed in a local hospital after protracted illness on Wednesday. He was 86.
Born in Kohlo, Balochistan, on 28 February 1928, he got primary education from Kohlo and higher education from Aitchison College Lahore. He also remained member of National Assembly of Pakistan, but due to differences with the then prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto he left parliamentary politics and supported policies of separatists. He spent more than a decade in self-imposed exile and retuned home on June 15, 1992. He also spend 18 months in jail in charges of murder of Balochistan High Court Judge Justice Nawaz Marri.
The deceased would be laid to rest in Kohlo, Balochistan.
