Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday handed over four suspects involved in Safoora carnage to police on physical remand till 5 June 2015.
Police produced the accused Tahir Hussain, Saad Aziz, Mohammad Azhar and Hafiz Nasir before the ATC judge amid high security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of all the accused as they are required for investigation. The accused were allegedly involved in attacking a bus carrying passengers of Ismaili community.
According to the prosecution, the accused were arrested by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) after an encounter on 20 May 2015 from Gulshan-e-Maymar. Four hand grenades, 9MM pistols, kalashankoves and a car was seized from accused’s possession.
At least 45 people belonging to Ismaili community were killed and others injured when unknown assailants targeted them near Safoora Goth on 13th May 2015.
