CM seeks workable development action plan

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Thursday directed authorities of planning & development department to prepare a workable development action plan (DAP) for incorporation into vision 2025 Program being conceived by federal government, with consultation of all administrative secretaries, chamber of commerce & industries, chamber of agriculture, grower organizations and other stakeholders so as to upgrade socio-economic status of the province at par with advanced countries.

This he directed while presiding over a consultative meeting to discuss DAP for vision 2025, held at CM House Karachi. He instructed officers to prepare their plan as attractive and without any political discrimination. The chief minister directed them to gather the proposals and submit their next preparation report by on May 12, 2014

The chief minister while discussing initial draft of DAP prepared by planning & development department directed the relevant official to re-visit it, consult with chamber of commerce, grower organizations and other stakeholders of private sector.

He said that planning must be enabling to achieve 100% literacy rate, provide health facilities and potable water to each citizen. He directed the planners to give much priority to the energy producing program, without it no nation could be prosperous.

He was of the view that rapid growth rate in population and environment changes would be big threats to the development targets and asked the officers to prepare strategy to control over growing population and having capacity building to meet with environment challenges, natural disasters or minimize these losses.
