Commissioner chairs meeting to resolve citizen’s problems


KARACHI: : Under the aegis of commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, a meeting was held with all the deputy commissioners during which they reviewed in detail the crucial problems facing the city inhabitants, the overall plight of law and order of the city as well as the security of its pubic buildings, mosques, imambargah’s, churches and places of minority worship.

The meeting was also attended by additional commissioner Karachi-I, Sibghatullah Mahar, additional commissioner-II, Haji Ahmed, deputy commissioner South, Salim Rajput, deputy commissioner Malir, Qazi Jan Mohammad, deputy commissioner East, Agha Perwez, deputy commissioner West, Syed Mohd. Ali Shah, additional deputy commissioner Central, Maqsood Ahmed Qureshi, and deputy commissioner Korangi, Asif Jan Siddiqui.

Director encroachment, Mazhar Khan, SSP encroachment, representatives from Sind rangers, police and other officers were also present at the meeting. During the meet, it was agreed that it is the responsibility of the administration of the city to play an active role in troubleshooting the grievances of the citizens.

The public is contacting and cooperating with the various public departments with regards to the problems they are facing, therefore, implementation of the laws relating to public service and their rights should be enforced. Addressing all the deputy commissioners of the city districts on the subject of further beautifiation of the city, he instructed them to devise and implent a decisive plan against encroachments within their domains and to ensure that such encroachments do not reappear again and if they appeared, take strict legal action against the perpetrators.

He gave clear directives to the officers of encroachment to scrupulously monitor the area of Sadder in two shifts to ensure the writ of the governement. During the meeting, it was decided that all the deputy commissioners will further make their control rooms active in order to create a more effective process to ensure the resolution of citizen complaints.

Also agreed upon was the idea that the respective district officers should play a diligent role against illigal activities.

Deputy commissioner South, Saleem Rajput, informed the commissioner that action had been intitiated against all encroachments and impediments causing hindrances in the free flow of traffic. A decision to further liaise with the deputy commissioner traffic to improve the flow of traffic was also reached.
