Commissioner reviews Eid security measures


KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that keeping in view the security threat on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, all administrative employees of Eidgahs and prayer congregations should closely watch surrounding situations.

“The personnel of managements should immediately report the nearest police station, rangers personnel or at commissioner office control room 99203443 in case they found any suspicious thing or activity,” he said while presiding over a meeting held to review security measures at Eidgahs, prayer congregations, mosques and Imambargahs at the Commissioner House.

Additional Commissioner Karachi Muhammed Aslam Khoso, Chief Implementation Unit Commissioner Officer Syed Muhammed Shakib, officials of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, cantonment boards, district municipal corporations and police were also present on the occasion.

The commissioner was informed that all the civic arrangements regarding Eid-ul-Fitr had been completed that include cleaning of Eid congregations primises.

The meeting was also told that operational police had finalized the security arrangements at all the important places, while special arrangements regarding traffic management at important places had also been made.

Siddiqui directed all the deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners to supervise security and civic issues, and ensure implementation of all the steps in their limits. He extended advance greetings to citizens by himself and on behalf of the city administration.
