Cop murder accused remanded to police custody


KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) remanded two accused Mohammad Nauman and Mohammad Wajid to police custody on physical custody till 12 May 2015 in a case pertaining to an attack on cops.

According to prosecution, the accused attacked the cops and killed constable Adil Nawaz and injured constable Sadaqat on 26 April near Pakistan cable Chowrangi within the jurisdiction of Site B police station. The accused stripped cop’s SMG and took with them.

Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of the accused as they were required for investigation to trace out their connections. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to them on physical custody till 12 May.

The police party raided within the jurisdiction of Site B police station on 27 April and arrested Nauman and Wajid. They also recovered snatched SMG and other weapons from accused’s possession.
