CPNE meeting starts today in Quetta

KARACHI: Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNS) is going to start a two-day council meeting under the chair of President Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami from Friday (today) in Quetta.

CPNE Secretary General Dr Jabbar Khattak said that steps regarding security of journalists and editors, planning policy in view of present situation of media in the country and steps regarding performance of Pakistan Press Council would be reviewed in the meeting. The issues of journalists and editors in Balochistan would be specially discussed.

Renown editors from newspapers and magazines would participate in the meeting including Altaf Hussain Qureshi, Arif Nizami, Zia Shahid, Khushnood Ali Khan, Imtiaz Alam, Jameel Athar Qazi, Nazir Laghari, Sohail Warraich, Rashid Rehman, Owais Aslam Ali, Rehmat Ali Razi, Anwar Sajidi, Wasim Ahmed and Siddiq Baloch.

Khattak told that Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai would host lunch in honour of CPNE members and Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik would host a dinner.

CPNE members would also offer Fateha at the grave of senior journalist and chief editor of Daily Balochistan Time and Zamana Syed Fasih Iqbal (late).
