Cricket: Alamgir Gym enters in cricket tourney semis

Karachi: Alamgir Gymkhana recorded a convincing seven-wicket victory against Rangers Cricket Club and secured their place in the semi-finals of All Karachi Muhammad Zamir Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament here Friday at Hill Park Cricket Ground.

Rangers Cricket Club batted first in the match and put on board a modest total of 118-10 in 19.4 overs. Babar Malik top scored for the side with 30 runs. Bilal Manzoor, Imran Dad and Salman Khan captured two wickets each.

Alamgir Gymkhana in response easily achieved the victory total in 15.2 overs with seven wickets in hand. Ahsan Ali (35), Saad Ali (27no) and Muhammad Hassan (23no) batted well for the victors in the match.

In another match of the tournament, Northern Gymkhana overpowered Malir Companion by 71 runs to secure a place in the quarterfinals.
