KARACHI:,,, Karachi police on Friday claimed to have arrested two alleged street criminals in Gulshan-e-Maymar area of the city.
According to the police, they arrested two alleged street criminals identified as Shaikh Noman and Ehsanullah in the area. The police claimed that both accused were involved in snatching valuables and lifting motorcycles in Gulshan-e-Maymar.
They said the accused used to mug citizens at night in Gulshan-e-Maymar and surrounding areas. Weapons used in the incident along with ammunition and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from the arrested accused, the police said.
The motorcycle recovered from the accused was stolen from Mubina Town police station while a case number 554/2020 of motorcycle stealing was registered against unknown accused in Mubina Town police station.
The police also claimed that the accused had confessed during interrogation to dozens of incidents of motorcycle theft and street crime. The criminal records of the arrested accused are being collected from different police stations. A case has been registered against the arrested accused and investigation was underway, said the police.
