KARACHI: Heirs of 36 persons, who drowned in sea near Clifton on Eidul Azha Day in 2014, held a protest demonstration on Monday outside Karachi Press CLub against the government for not providing aid provided to it by Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz.
The protestors, carrying placards and banners, raised slogans against government for not providing the aid money to the victims’ heirs.
Talking to PPI, leader of protestors, Mohammad Zaib said that Bahria Town chief, showing solidarity with heirs, had announced Rs 1 million for 36 families each , who’s members, were drowned in the sea during sailing. He said they contacted Bahria Town office at Clifton several times and submitted applications, but they usually replied that the amount had been provided to Sindh government while the government says that they had still not received the aid money.
They demanded of the authority to pay attention towards their issue and resolve it soon.
