Dhabeji pumping house faces 7 hours power cut

KARACHI: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) spokesperson said electricity break down occurred at Dhabeji pumping house for seven hours depriving citizens of 15 million gallons water on Wednesday.

The electricity breakdown occurred at K-2 feeder no 5 at 8:05 am and continued until 3:15 pm due to which water could not be provided from two pumping stations. This way the benefit of 22mgd water from repaired pump no 1 of NEK pumping house, which has started providing water from today, could not be felt,” he said.

He said due to suspension of electricity the shortage of water remained same; however, the affected areas of district Central were provided water through 980 free public water tankers. The recent measures had improved water provision situation up to 80 percent.
