Eight killed, four injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Eight persons were killed and four others injured in different violence incidents in the city on Thursday. Two men were shot dead and one other injured by unknown armed men at Defense Housing Authority (DHA) Morr near Akhtar Colony. The bodies and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where a decrease was identified as Hameed, son of Siddique, while the identity of others could not be ascertained yet.

The body of Hanif, 27, son of Lal Khan, was found in Chanisar Goth near Kalapul. It was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, the eight-day-old body of a man was found near Rexser flyover. It was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for a postmortem examination.

Abdul Aziz, 18, son of Abdul Karim, was killed by armed men at Joghi Morr in Cattle Colony, Landhi. The body was brought to JPMC for an autopsy.

The four-day-old body of a man, bearing torched marks, was found near Pakistan Chowk. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities.

Two men, Qadri Hassan Waheed, 30, son of Qadri Muhammad Amanullah, and Sami Qadri, 25, son of Muhammad Ramzan, were shot dead by unidentified armed motorcyclists outside Lal Flats in Ghulistan-e-Johar. The bodies were shifted to JPMC for postmortem examinations.

Saleem Badshah, 25, Younus Khan, was shot and injured at Awami Colony in Korangi near Singer Chowrangi. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.

A 32-year-old cop, Ikhtiyar, son of Ghulam Qadir, was injured by unknown armed culprits in Quaidabad. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.

Meanwhile, Kamran, 40, son of Ramzan, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men in North Karachi, Sector 5-B. The injured was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
