Firemen rescue watchman on Shahra-e-Faisal

KARACHI: Some four fire tenders managed to put out fire on fourth floor of a building and rescued a watchman without the help of snorkel on Shahra-e-Faisal Road near Baloch Colony Bridge on Monday.

Fire department officials told water pipes were carried through stairs to reach the fourth floor of Noor Estate building due to non-availability of snorkel. The fire was started at 11:45am and doused until 02:30pm.

“Heavy smoke had filled the floor as two rooms were burnt from where a watchman was rescued unhurt,” they said.

Nobody was hurt and the financial loss could not be estimated until filing of the report.

The fire department of Karachi has been working without bowsers and snorkels due to which loss is always bigger.
