KARACHI: Friends, well-wishers and party workers remember Nasrullah Khan Shajih, former JI Karachi Naib Ameer on its first death anniversary on Tuesday (June-2).
Shajih was drowned on 2 June-2014 into Kunhar River near Balakot while trying to save a student Sufyan Asim who had accidently slipped and fell into the river.
Shajih was on a study tour along with the children of Usman Public School. He was also the principal of Campus-13 Usman Public School.
Shajih was posthumously conferred upon the Presidential Medal i.e. ‘Tamgha-e-Shujaat’ on his bravery and sacrifice.
The Campus-13 of Usman Public School was also renamed as Nasrullah Khan Shajih Campus to recognize his services rendered for humanity.
Nasrullah Khan Shajih was born in 1972 in Hyderabad Colony Karachi and got his early education in the city.
He was affiliated with Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) in his student life and played an active role in student politics. He was also served as Nazim IJT, Karachi during 1996 to 1998. He got his Masters’ degree in International Relations (IR) from Karachi University.
Nasrullah Khan Shajih was also served as JI Ameer, District East and elected as MPA from PS-116 on the platform of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) in the general elections of 2002 at the age of 30.
