Five killed, four injured in mishaps


KARACHI: Five people, including a woman, were killed and four others injured in different mishaps in the metropolis on Monday.

A man, Saleem, 39, son of Sheera, resident of Bhains Colony, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit his motorcycle near Pulia at Pump Manzil in Quaidabad area. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for postmortem.

A youth, Arshi, 25, son of Jonson, was killed and Zarif, 25, injured when a vehicle hit them near Iqra University in Baloch Colony area. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy. Both were residents of Azam Basti.

In another incident, a boy, Hamza, 18, son of Iqbal, died when a car hit him in Baber Market in Landhi area. The body was brought to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

Hazoor Bakhsh, 30, son of Abdullah, was killed when a car hit him in Chakiwara, Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.

A woman, Manzoora Wali, 40, was killed and her son Nazar, injured when a truck crushed their motorcycle at Nagori Stop on Superhighway. The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Nasira Batool, 30, daughter of Nazir Hussain, was injured when a vehicle hit her on Khudadad Volony signal. She was rushed to JPMC for treatment.

A youth, Faizan, 24, son of Mohammad Ali, was injured when a vehicle hit him in Nursery in PECHS. He was brought to JPMC for treatment.
