Five killed in city road accident


KARACHI: Five people, including a boy, were killed and one other injured in different road accidents in the city on Friday. Two men Sultan, 30, son of Ghazi Mir, and Ishtiaq, 35, son of Shaukat, were killed when unknown speeding truck hit them near Singer Chowrangi in Korangi Industrial area. The victims were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, two men Naveed, 25, son of Abdul Majeed, and Khalid, 32, son of Anwar Islam, resident of Thatta, were killed when unidentified speeding vehicle struck their motorcycle on National Highway near Bhains Colony. The bodies were shifted to JPMC for a postmortem examination.

A nine-year-old boy, Sheraz, son of Islam Zar, was killed and Nadir Hussain, 20, son of Muhammad Bux, injured when a speeding van hit them on National Highway near Steel Town. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy while the injured was rushed to Still Mill Hospital for treatment.
