KARACHI: Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), SM Muneer, has said that exporters were facing financial losses due to ongoing fluctuation in dollar prices and the apprehensions of exporters would be conveyed to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
“Government will be asked to allow leather exporters to import used machineries so that export of leather products can be enhanced,” he said while speaking at a dinner hosted by Pakistan Tanners Association at his honour on Tuesday night.
President, All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Mian Zahid Hussain, Former Chairman PTA & Former Vice President FPCCI, Gulzar Firoz, Chairman PTA, Shaikh Saquib Masood, Fawad Jawed, Agha Saiddain,Mohammad Usman ,Patron-in-Chief SAARC Chamber, Tariq Sayeed, Vice President FPCCI, SM Naseer, Ikhlaq Memon, SM Pervez, SM Tariq, Zubair Tufail and others were also present.
SM Muneer said that there was maladministration in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan for the last two years and relatives were being invited on government expenses in the mega event like Expo Pakistan, but, now it would not be allowed anymore. “We will invite real buyers and investors,” he added.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that DDAP is the key for the prosperity in Pakistan and since exports are the major factor for economic development therefore, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had appointed SM Muneer as Chief Executive, TDAP. Now, it was responsibility of the business community to support him so that exports could be increased.
Gulzar Firoz said that 90% diplomats from foreign countries came in Expo Pakistan for pleasure trip and had no relation with Expo Pakistan. He said that Pakistan should make Turkey as role model for increasing their exports whose increased its exports and rate of GDP by 200 Percent.
