Karachi: Sindh food department has collected dues of Rs1.1631billion from the flour mills of the province during last four months, while about Rs220million dues would be collected next week.
This was told to a meeting presided over by Sindh food minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan, which reviewed the performance of the department here Wednesday.
The meeting was told that three flour mills have failed to pay their dues and there cases have already been sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). These defaulters included Shikarpur flour mills with dues of Rs80million, Sindh flour mills Khairpur with dues of Rs63.6million and Khaliq flour mills with dues of Rs43.2million.
District food controller Zahid Ali Unar and Najeebullah Narejo have been suspended for their failure to recover the dues.
